ASSESSMENTS
1. Observed Behaviour: Mobility rejection.
They wrote: "You were observed to walk 20 metres to the assessment room without distress"
Why this might not apply in your case:
The assessor may have ignored the "Reliability" criteria - whether a task can be done SAFELY, REPEATEDLY, to an ACCEPTABLE STANDARD, and in a REASONABLE TIME
Our assessment and report:
Will detail a clinical analysis of your gait, fatigue and recovery time over 24 hours, proving that one 20m walk does not represent "most days" or 50% of days.
2. Articulate + Engaging rejection example.
They wrote: "You were articulate and maintained good eye contact; therefore, you have no difficulty engaging with others."
Why this may not apply to your case:
Being able speak to a professional in a structured interview is not the same as managing social anxiety or complex interactions in the community.
Our assessment and report:
Will assess your cognition and emotional barriers in real-world environments, documenting the "hidden" mental effort and subsequent exhaustion that assessors ignore.
3. Driving a Car rejection:
They wrote: "As you hold a driving license and drive a car, you have the cognition and physical ability to plan and follow a journey."
Why this may not apply to your case:
Driving a familiar route is a "Learned Skill" and does not prove the ability to navigate an unfamiliar journey or manage the distress of unexpected changes.
Our assessment and report:
Will assess and differentiate between automated physical tasks and the executive function required for "Planning and Following Journeys".
4. Not under a Specialist rejection:
They wrote: "You are not currently under the care of a specialist, which suggests your condition is well-managed."
Why this may not apply to your case:
Many people are discharged once a condition is chronic/stable, or they are on long waiting lists. This does not mean their functional limitations have disappeared.
Our assessment and report:
Will show through our HCPC-registered professional that your report is 'SPECIALIST' evidence. This will provide the clinical weight that the DWP claims is missing currently from your file and claim.
5. Standard Dose rejection example:
They wrote: "You are on a low/standard dose of medication; therefore, your pain/anxiety is not severe."
Why this may not apply to your case:
Medication levels do not always correlate with functional impact. Some people cannot tolerate higher doses or have reached the ceiling of what medication can do.
Our assessment and report:
Will focus on your function, not pharmacology or medication. The report will document in detail how you actually move, wash, cook and function proving that even with or without medication, the "functional gap" remains.
6. Observed Cooking with microwave rejection example:
They wrote: "You were observed or stated that you are able to cook independently because you use / have a microwave."
Why this may not apply to your case:
Using a microwave for simple reheating food or preparing a ready meal, does not mean that you can safely prepare or endure the task of safely cooking on the majority of days.
Our assessment and report:
Will assess your function appropriately and correctly within the cooking environment taking into account all of the sequencing and safe implementation of preparing a meal and hot drink safely. This includes being able to operate a hob and pans, peeling vegetables and standing for 10 minutes to meet the legal criteria for 'Preparing Food' regardless of microwave use.
This list is not exhaustive and is just examples of the numerous reasons that the DWP can reject your claim incorrectly and how we can potentially change the verdict with a simple assessment and report for you to submit.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT WE WILL ENDEVOUR TO WORK WITH YOU AND COLLABORATE WITH YOU IN YOUR BEST INTEREST AND DO ALL WE CAN TO STRENGTHEN AND SUPPORT YOUR CLAIM- HOWEVER, WE MUST STATE CLEARLY THAT OUR ASSESSMENTS AND REPORTS MUST REAMAIN OBJECTIVE AND IMPARTIAL AND WILL NOT EMBELISH YOUR FUNCTIONAL ABILITY.
